With only one surviving member (i.e. the pyramid), these are the seven wonders of the ancient world.

    I remember them vividly!

Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Great Pyramid of Giza, Statue of Zeus at Olympia, Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, Colossus of Rhodes and the Lighthouse of Alexandria as depicted by 16th-century Dutch artist Marten Heemskerk (except for the second, which is not his work.)

I particularly like the Zeus statue, on which the “shirtless Washington” statue is modeled. Interesting to think how a couple thousand years has affected mankind’s modesty. Or is it just a “western thing?”

Joe, have you not played Sid Meier’s Civilization?

  18. joe | Profile

Haha, no I havent. I was a bit embarrassed when I saw the answers coming in, it all clicked then, albeit too late.
You know in England they dont seem to teach you the ancient wonders, or the capitals of the world say… interesting things like that.
Anyway, I wouldnt be surprised if someone HAS been buried at each one of the sites!!

I insist that you play it. Anyone who owns a computer and has not played a Sid Meier game, is cheating themselves out of the full value out of their machine. Be sure to allow plenty of time (think months).

If I’m not mistaken, It’s the previous 7 wonders of the world. (ancient times)
