Word Puzzle: Unusual Paragraph

Here’s a word puzzle courtesy of BrainBashers:

This is an unusual paragraph. I’m curious how quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it. It looks so plain you would think nothing is wrong with it. In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is unusual though. Study it, and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out. Try to do so without any coaching!

Will post the answer in a day or 2 in the comments section…

There are no ‘E’s in the entire passage.

Thanks Joel, I’d never have picked that one out.

I knew that one after reading the first sentence. Is it true that there is a book that is like 400 some pages long with no e’s in it?

I can tell you someone did write an entire book without using the letter ‘e’, but I don’t know the author nor the title of the book; I can only say that there has been a book written like that. And, incase you didn’t know, the letter ‘e’ is the most used letter in the modern english alphabet. By the way, I just used the letter ‘e’ 40 times, just writing this message.

The books is called ‘A Void’ by Georges Perec (translated by Gilbert Adair), and despite the author’s name, it doesn’t use a single ‘E’ in the entire book. 290 pages, originally in french I believe.

I want to get my hands on a copy so I can read it! Looks very interesting.

Maybe so, but shouldn’t a paragraph be indented too?
